Is the Jetour T2 Worth the Price in Zimbabwe? (Specs & Cost Analysis)
What you actually get for the money — engines, 4WD hardware, clearance and running costs — and how to judge value on Zimbabwean roads.

Whether the Jetour T2 is worth it in Zimbabwe depends on how you will drive it. For buyers who need real ground clearance and 4WD but want modern cabin technology, the 2.0TD T2 offers a lot of hardware for its class. For mostly urban use, the 1.5TD front-wheel-drive version lowers both purchase price and fuel use. Below we compare the specifications that matter and the costs you should add up before deciding.
What do you get in the Jetour T2?
| 1.5TD FWD | 2.0TD 4WD | |
|---|---|---|
| Power / torque | 184 hp / 290 N·m | 254 hp / 390 N·m |
| Gearbox | 7-speed wet DCT | 8-speed automatic |
| Ground clearance | 220 mm | 220 mm |
| Wading depth | 700 mm | 700 mm |
| Rear diff lock | No | Yes |
| Fuel use (WLTC) | 8.35 L/100 km | 9.58 L/100 km |
| Braked towing | — | 1,600 kg |
Figures are from the manufacturer's published factory specification for the 2026 Jetour T2 RHD. Both versions have a 360° camera, 15.6-inch touchscreen and 10.25-inch digital cluster.
Is it suited to Zimbabwean roads?
Zimbabwe drives on the left, so the RHD T2 needs no conversion. On rural roads, the 220 mm clearance and 28° approach angle help on rough surfaces; on farm and mine access roads the 2.0TD's 4WD and rear differential lock add traction. Both engines run on 92 RON petrol or higher — check local fuel quality and supply in your area.
What costs should you add up?
- Vehicle price in China (FOB) for your configuration
- Sea freight and insurance to Beira (Mozambique) or Durban (South Africa)
- Transit by road to Harare or Bulawayo
- Import duty and taxes assessed by the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA)
- Clearing, registration and insurance in Zimbabwe
The route matters: compare total door cost via Beira and via Durban, not just sea freight. Neighbouring-market guides for Zambia and Botswana describe similar inland corridors.
Verdict: who should buy which version?
- Urban families and price-led dealers: 1.5TD FWD.
- Farms, mines, lodges and NGO fleets: 2.0TD 4WD.
- Tour operators needing seats: the seven-seat 2027 Jetour T2 RHD.
